Traditional Burmese lacquerware consists of molded and wrapped bamboo strips covered in a thick black resin, then decorated with a variety of colored powder and occasionally precious metals such as gold and copper. Burmese lacquerware is primarily crafted in the ancient city of Bagan, known as the city of 10,000 temples. Its origins date back to approximately the 12th century. Contact us for details!
